… and how we do it
The golden rules of structural analysis(from Ze’ev Reches):
First: identify an unresolved structural problem that deserves your efforts (it is not easy!).
Second: (the bad news) structures are not as simple as they may look: they are three-dimensional, non-linear and time-dependent.
Third: (the good news) recognize the critical features and measure them accurately: these observations will provide a key to the solution.
Fourth: modeling must be linked to the critical observations (no use for theory without data!).
Our research interests include
Deformation processes associated with faults in the upper crust:
· Fracturing of reservoir rocks and fault activation/seal
· Fault rupturing and fault damage zones
· Earthquakes, seismic hazard and landslides
… who are doing the work
Associate Professor, Principal Investigator
I am interested in how fault plays a role in petroleum reservoir and natural hazards, using rotary-shearing experiments and 3D seismic attributes. I am also interested in machine learning and blockchain.

If you find a path with no obstacles, it probably does not lead anywhere. In my opinion, energy is a cause worth dedicating my life to. Every single day is a new day for me to explore and touch the world. At leisure time, Badminton is my favorite.
Graduate student
Since September 2019, I have been studying with a postgraduate majoring in Geological Engineering at China University of Petroleum (Beijing). I am interested in the interpretation of seismic data, especially the seismic attributes and seismic facies analysis. In my spare time, I like to play badminton with friends.

I am interested in how geologic hazards happen and I hope I can do my best to prevent geologic hazards as many as possible in the future. In my free time, I like to watch moives and listen to music.
